Context
Turkey is one of Europe's leading exporters of organic produce and is gradually developing its domestic market for "organik" products. Organic farming in Turkey covers 523,000 hectares with a total production of four million tonnes. In 2019, organic farming accounted for 3.5% of Turkey's agricultural sector.
With this in mind, Naturnorm was founded in 2016 by two entrepreneurial agricultural engineers. Their aim is to supply natural products to the food and beverage industry in Turkey. They produce organic herbs and spices. Their company focuses on natural cultivation techniques and certifies production according to organic standards.
The two engineers believe that social, economic and environmental sustainability can only be achieved by working directly with farmers. To this end, they have set up a series of agricultural projects in four different regions of Turkey.
The project

"Our agricultural production is certified in accordance with European Union regulations (EC Regulation 834/07) and the US National Organic Policy (NOP). Sustainability is another important issue for us. Naturnorm supports young farmers in particular and strives to improve their standard of living."
