Project

Panjee has created the first product and business data sharing network dedicated to agricultural and agri-food sectors.

This tool enables production, processing and distribution professionals to create and exchange highly qualitative, intelligent and reliable product data that meets the expectations of consumers.

"We have created the first collaborative product information management tool, dedicated to all farm-to-plate trades".

This data is structured in the form of a "digital product passport" and includes information on traceability, growing methods, variety, label, team, history of the producer but also its values ​​and commitments, and much more.

Their goal is to enable each professional to value the quality efforts undertaken. For producers or processors, the Montpellier start-up aims to provide a guarantee of quality concerning their products in order to increase their value and visibility.

Implementation: For each product the passports provide the sector, the brand, the label or other distinctions. They are then securely exchanged with trading partners. Each actor is master of his data and chooses with whom he wishes to exchange them.

"It has taken 3 years of R & D to understand how information is exchanged in agricultural and agri-food sectors and to design a tool that integrates all trades, all sectors and is useful to all.

We work in co-construction with major players from each link in the value chain. We've done a lot of work on the user experience to create a simple and accessible tool for everyone. "

Means: They are accompanied by several incubators, including the BIC, digital incubator of Montpellier and Agro Valo, the incubator of Montpellier Supagro school, which allows them to be followed by experts in these two sectors. The company is also supported by the Occitanie region.

Results: Panjee facilitates the circulation of product information from the producer to the consumer, valuing the quality efforts and know-how of each actor involved.

This makes it possible :

  • to rebalance the balance of power in the sector by giving power to producers
  • to encourage qualitative and sustainable good practices of actors in the chain
  • to give consumers the opportunity to make informed and sustainable choices in their diet

Context

Today's consumer requires clear, reliable and accessible information about the products they consume, but professionals have great difficulty creating, sharing and distributing this information simply and inexpensively.

"We were motivated by the idea of ​​solving a problem that has not yet been addressed, but which helps and federates all the actors in the value chain. In addition, our solution will revolutionize the food information of tomorrow and therefore our way of consuming. Knowing that consumers make better purchasing decisions, that farmers value their products and their trades better and that their quality efforts are recognized, all thanks to our tool, it will be our greatest satisfaction ".

The team

Panjee was created by Léonard Matoug and Jeoffrey Queruel, after several years spent working together in digital marketing with large companies.

The idea was born with the simultaneous statement as a consumer on the lack of  qualitative and reliable product information on the food products, and the chance of a meeting with a consultant of a supermarket sign. A simple discussion in 2014 led them 6 months later to present the first omnichannel strategy based on the customer experience. It was at this point that they were able to discuss with senior officials and to see that even large retailers did not have the necessary tools to disseminate qualitative data on food products.

The Panjee team consists of 7 people, including the two co-founders. The team covers all activities of customer and commercial manager, graphic designer and designer, R & D manager and developer.

The Little Extra

The proposed solution is the first "trusted third party" to connect all actors in the food chain to facilitate the creation, collection and exploitation of data produced. It thus generates both an individual profit (cost reduction, increased sales), a collective profit (competitiveness of the French sectors), and a societal benefit (sustainable production and food).

Panjee also makes it possible to exchange menus thanks to the passports of the products which compose them, and thus to value the qualities, the terroirs, the men and their know-how to increase the pleasure and the experience of tasting.
