“Les Paniers Marseillais” (Marseilles Baskets): a network of organic and short-circuit consumers

Context

Les Paniers Marseillais is a network of consumers, in solidarity with local producers in organic and / or agroecological practice or in conversion to these practices.

Project

Forty products are offered in compliance with the Paniers Marseillais charter and ethics. The producers who supply the Marseilles Baskets are all in organic farming or in the process of converting to "organic" (that is to say, they use neither pesticides nor synthetic fertilizers).

They are in organic practice and benefit from personalized support by a consultant farmer and continuous training.

Some market gardeners who do not supply Marseilles Baskets, nevertheless join the association to benefit from personalized support and continuing education. Alongside the market gardeners, other producers offer contracts for the various baskets to supply eggs, chicken, lamb, beef, pork, fish, shellfish, bread, dairy products (cheeses, yogurts , milk ...), olive oil, honey, flour and cereals, wine, flowers …

Partnership between the Paniers Marseillais and the Secours Populaire

The families hosted by Secours populaire expressed a desire to eat organic and quality products because having a healthy diet is important for health. However these families feel that there are obstacles,  financially (expensive organic products) and psychologically (do not deserve it).

The Secours Populaire and Paniers Marseillais have therefore decided to set up a distribution of organic baskets every Tuesday at 5.30 p.m.

The basket costs 3 € for families of the Secours Populaire instead of 18 €.

This is possible thanks to the financial partners and the "Adopt a basket" operation: each donor benefits from a tax reduction of 75% (60% for businesses). By sending a check or by making a permanent transfer to Secours Populaire des Bouches du Rhône:

  • Check payable to "Secours populaire" mentioning on the back of the check "Solidarity Baskets". A tax receipt allowing you to deduct 75% of your donation will be sent to you by the Secours Populaire. (Check to be sent to Secours Populaire)
  • Permanent transfer of € 15, € 30, € 60 per month over 6 months or a year. By completing the SEPA direct debit mandate below. (To be sent to Secours Populaire)

The Little Extra

The Marseille Baskets organize several events in the sector, such as “La Fêtes des Paniers”, on September 30, and also participates in events outside the association, Alternatiba, Agro-Parade paysanne, Nature en Fête, and others, ...
