Context

The agricultural profession lost 200,000 workers between 2000 and 2010. Facilitating the professional establishment of new farmers has become a priority to produce quality food in a preserved environment while creating sustainable employment.

Project

The national RENETA network, the Network of Agricultural Test Spaces brings together a diversity of actors (incubators, cooperatives, communities, associations, agricultural high schools, etc.) around a Charter and common values. The primary objective is to promote activity tests for those who wish to set up a farming activity in a responsible and autonomous manner. The activity tests take place over a limited period and in a framework that reduces risk taking. This test period makes it possible for future potential farmers to assess a project and their ability to carry it out, with the aim of deciding whether to continue, adjust or abandon it. RENETA is also a space for the exchange of good practices that can lead to action research projects such as the Newbie project which consists in developing and disseminating new economic models, including new installation models, to all new entrants.

Implementation

The training sessions take place in 2 stages:

  • The morning is a "common core" to acquire fundamental knowledge for the implementation of an agricultural test space device.
  • The afternoon is devoted to the study of a specific modality of operational set-up, based on the example of the welcoming test space.

This training course is intended for development agents and / or elected officials wishing to learn more about the concept of agricultural test spaces. They are open to anyone who wishes, whether they belong to RENETA member structures or not.

Costs :

“Collective” sessions: € 175 (incl. tax) per person, excluding transport costs, meals and accommodation. These costs are the responsibility of each participant. If there are less than 8 participants, the training day is canceled.

"Personalized" sessions, groups already formed: contact us for a quote.

Project leaders

The idea of building the national RENETA project network came about in 2012 following several meetings on mutualized testing and discussion around the question of testing in the agricultural field. The result was a Charter created by its members. The national working group created in 2008 met twice a year between 2008 and 2011, and included nearly 80 members in 2019. The board of directors has 13 members for 2018/2019.

The Little Extra

The RENETA network now includes nearly 80 members including:

  • 40 espaces-test agricoles en fonctionnement sur toute la France, qui accueillent des futurs agriculteurs en test d’activité ;
  • 30 espaces-test agricoles en projet, qui sont en phase de structuration ;
  • des membres et partenaires associés, réseaux nationaux qui souhaitent s’investir dans la thématique du test d’activité en agriculture.
  • 40 agricultural test spaces in operation across France, which welcome future farmers in activity testing;
  • 30 agricultural test spaces in project, which are in the structuring phase;
  • members and associated partners, national networks who wish to invest in the theme of the activity test in agriculture.
