Context
In the face of growing urbanization and densification, city dwellers tend to lose touch with their natural environment. The company Nature et Potager en ville aims to develop above-ground gardening in order to bring more greenery to homes in the city center while encouraging local trade.
Project
An innovative company for the development of urban vegetation through above-ground gardening, Nature et Potager en ville offers various products to develop urban agriculture with mini-vegetable gardens. There are products such as organic compost, mulching, seedlings of green manure produced locally in organic or sustainable agriculture.
This small company sells its products on the markets but also in the Darwin space and takes part in many projects such as that of the biodiversification of the Bordeaux Submarine Base. Most of the vegetables in mini-gardens are consumable and can be produced on balconies, courtyards or small garden spaces. Nature et Potager works a lot on the affinities between plants in order to recreate a balanced ecosystem. Finally, they also sell Oyas, terracotta pots that regulate the water consumed by plants. Handcrafted in the Hérault department, they meet the company's requirements in terms of sustainable development, saving natural resources by reducing the waste of water for watering.

For individuals or professionals, Nature et Potager en ville is for everyone and helps you create your mini-vegetable garden, on your terrace or on your roof, from design to installation.
Project leaders
Marie-Dominique Pivetaud, who has experience in permaculture, started the project in 2013 and she was joined by Jean-Christophe Legendre, an agricultural engineer, in 2015. They have many eco-partners, such as Smart Pot, the Alchemist, Bordeaux Aquitaine Pionnères, Germinance.
The Little Extra
They do not use conventional pots but growing bags made of recyclable geotextiles! They allow a better distribution of the root system and maximum aeration of the soil to promote plant growth.
In addition, they are tear-proof, UV- and frost-resistant, long-lasting and recyclable thanks to relay terminals.
